Your way to SIXT/Shuttle ServiceSIXT Kauai Lihue Airport is located only three minutes from Lihue Airport. Our location is conveniently located at 3156 Oihana Street, Lihue, HI 96766. To get to our SIXT branch from the airport and to return simply use the SIXT shuttle which you will find outside the terminal building at the Car Rental bus stop. The SIXT shuttle runs every 6-12 minutes. From Princeville/Kapa'a/WailuaUse Kuhio Hwy towards Lihue Airport. Turn/stay left on Kapule Hwy and pass Lihue Airport. After a mile make a right turn onto Halau Street and immediately turn left onto Oihana Street. You will find the SIXT branch on the left side after 100 ft. From KoloaStay on Mahulia Road towards Lihue Airport. After the Tree Tunnel make a right turn onto Kaumualli Hwy. Stay on this road until you pass Safeway than turn right onto Rice Street. Follow the signs to Lihue Airport and make a left turn onto Kapule Hwy. After 500ft turn left onto Halau Street and immediately turn left onto Oihana Street. You will find the SIXT branch on the left side after 100 ft.

Excess and Liability

•This is an exclusive product and does not include CDW (Collision Damage Waiver Insurance). CDW is a legal requirement when renting a car.

Please obtain proof from your credit card company if CDW is included on your credit card otherwise you are required to purchase CDW at the rental desk.

You may be held responsible for damage to or loss of tyres, windscreens, glass and undercarriage. Please check with the car rental agent on arrival.

•LOSS DAMAGE WAIVER: Loss Damage Waiver reduces the renter's responsibility to zero in the event of damage to or loss of the rental vehicle. The cost of LDW is $24.99 per day.

Mandatory Documents and Important Information

The following documents are required to collect the vehicle:

•A printed version of your Rental Voucher.

•Passport or Identification card

•A valid credit card in the name of the main driver. A security deposit will be held for the duration of the rental. The exact will be determined upon your arrival at the rental desk. The minimum deposit is USD 700 - USD 2700 for all car groups. Exceptions: the minimum deposit for car groups X*** is USD 700 - USD 2700.

•A valid (with no endorsements) driving licence. International driving licence is required for customers whose licence is not written in Roman alphabet (Arabic, Chinese, Japanese, and Cyrillic etc.). For driving licenses from countries not part of the international driving license treaty, an official translation of the license must be presented with the original license.

•Age Restriction and Driving License: Drivers must be 25 years old and have held a valid driving license for a minimum of 12 months. The maximum driver's age is 99 years.

•For car group FVAR, PVAR drivers must have category D1 driving license. EU citizens are allowed to drive vehicles from Mini to 8 seater vehicles.

•Please Note: Customers renting in Atlanta Hartsfield Airport require proof of a return flight in order to rent a vehicle.

An Underage Driver Surcharge of USD 23.99-35.99 per day (New York State USD 35.99-60.99 per day) or maximum of USD 398.99-588.89 per month (New York State maximum USD 598.49 -1.008.19 per month) applies for drivers under 25 years.

You must be 21 years of age to rent Economy, Compact and Standard car groups (with the exception of Mustangs and SUVs).

You must be 25 years of age to rent all other car groups.

Fuel policy

Your vehicle will be supplied with a full tank of fuel. To avoid incurring fuel charges you will need to return it full. You may be required to leave a fuel deposit reserved on your credit card that will be released when you return the car full. Missing fuel will be charged on your return along with an administration fee. The price per litre charged by the rental agent may be significantly higher than the price at the local service station.

Payment Details

We accept all major credit cards including American Express, Diners Club, Eurocard/MasterCard, Discover, Visa. The renter must be the owner of the presented means of payment which must be presented at the start of the rental. A valid credit card must provide available credit. Please Note: Payments with credit card may require the credit card PIN.

Debit cards are not accepted for local renters* at airport locations. Debit cards with available funds may be accepted at select locations at Sixt's sole discretion with two forms of government-issued ID, and only if one of the following conditions are met:

(1) The renter presents a return airline ticket or roundtrip itinerary upon pick-up made at least 24 hours prior to the pick-up date, that coincides with the drop-off date and location. Non-local renters with a debit card cannot rent any Premium, Luxury, Extraordinary or Specialty vehicles, with the exception of Pickup trucks and Vans. Customers travelling internationally, whose debit card is issued in their country of origin may rent any category vehicle except for Specialty cars.

You can only use Debit cards if you are renting the following car groups (Economy, Compact, Standard and Full Size). Debit cards with available funds may be accepted at select locations at Sixt's sole discretion with two forms of government-issued ID, proof of a return airline ticket or roundtrip itinerary upon pick-up. Debit cards are not accepted for long term rentals (long term rentals are 28 days rentals or longer).Debit cards are not accepted for local renters* at airport locations.

A local renter* at a downtown locations can present an original and current utility bill which matches the name and address on the Driver's License of the renter. Photocopies, printouts, digital images (digital format can be accepted provided that the source of the document comes from the official page; e.g. FPL site), or overdue bills are not permitted. Local Renters* with a debit card may need additional documentation and can only rent Vans, Economy through Standard sedans, Compact through Intermediate SUVs and Pickup trucks.

Debit card rentals are not allowed for long term rentals (defined as 28 days or longer).You can only use Debit cards if you are renting the following car groups (Economy, Compact, Standard and Full Size).

In general, an authorization of a minimum of $500 to $2500 plus the amount due for the rental will be taken as an authorization against the Credit Card for security purposes. The authorization amount on Premium and Luxury vehicles (PCAR, PFAR, PTAR, LCAR, LDAC, LCAC,LFAR, LFAC, LTAR) is a minimum of $700, Extraordinary vehicles (XCAR, XCAC, XDAC, XFAR, XFAC, XTAR) have an authorization amount of $1200, and all higher-end vehicles (XDAR, XZAN, XFAN XJAN, XSAJ, XTAJ, XTAM, XTAN) have minimum authorization of $2700.

For Debit Cards a deposit of $700 plus the cost of the rental will be taken as a deposit from the Debit Card. These funds will not be available to you during the rental.

The rental location may also perform a credit check or require additional qualifications in accordance with local policy to determine the whether the renter qualifies for a rental on a higher-end vehicle. The customer must meet the minimum criteria as determined by that location to qualify for a rental.

In the event that you fail to present a valid credit card or lack of sufficient funds available on the credit card, car rental agent may refuse to release the vehicle. In these instances, no funds paid will be reimbursed.

Extras and Additional Charges

ADDITIONAL DRIVERS: $12.99 per day with a maximum charge of $109.99.

BABY SEATS/BOOSTER SEATS/CHILD SEATS: $9.99 per day with the maximum charge of $77.00.

GPS: The cost of GPS is $12.99 per day, $77 per rental.

EXPRESS TOLL SERVICE: This costs $8.99 per day with the maximum charge of $139.00 per month.In California and Washington this costs $9.99/day with the maximum charge of $159.00/month, and in Texas costs $10.49/day, maximum charge of $169.00/month.

EZ TOLL PASS SERVICE: This costs $3.99 per day with a maximum charge of $23.99 per rental (available in New York and Pennsylvenia).

Please note: The price of optional extras (including equipment, fuel and insurance) are subject to change without notice and local taxes may apply. Optional extras (equipment) are subject to availability and payable at the counter.

Other information

• Voucher: A printed version of your rental voucher must be produced upon arrival at the rental desk. Failure to present the voucher means the car rental agent may charge you at the local rates. Please note: We are not responsible for overcharges on rentals where the voucher was not presented to the local agent on collection of the vehicle. If you do not present the required documents, the documentation is not valid or you do not have enough funds on your credit card, the car rental agent may refuse to release the vehicle and no funds will be reimbursed.

•All costs derived from the use of the incorrect and/or lack of petrol are not included.

•The car rental provider is not to be held liable for items stolen, forgotten or lost inside the vehicle. It is recommended that the customers have these items covered through personal travel cover.

•The loss of the vehicle documents is not covered.

•Traffic fines, sanctions and judicial costs related to traffic violations and tolls are not included in the rental cost.

•No insurance will cover customers driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, and/or found using their cellular phone at the time of an accident.

•The vehicles displayed and models listed are the most common vehicles used by our car rental partners. We cannot guarantee the make/model or traction of the rental vehicle will be the same as the vehicle displayed on our website.

•No refunds will be given if you fail to collect the vehicle at your specified time or if you fail to meet the driving licence, passport, credit card or other documentation requirements outlined in this voucher. Neither do CarTrawler provide refunds for vehicles returned early.

Cancellation and no-show policy

What is your cancellation policy for fully prepaid or part-paid bookings?

1 - If you cancel 48 hours prior to your pick-up, you will be refunded in full.

2 - If you cancel less than 48 hours in advance of pick-up, you'll receive a refund minus USD100. If your online payment is less than USD100, no refund will be made for your car rental booking.

3 - If your booking is made less than 48 hours before pick-up, the cancellation policy will automatically apply to your booking.

4 - All cancellations should be made on our online portal and not with the car rental agent. Should you agree to cancel directly with the car rental agent on arrival, you must also inform us of this change to your booking.

5 - Amending your booking or cancelling optional extras may not be possible less than 48 hours before pick-up.

If you purchased our Damage Refund Insurance product and have since decided to cancel your car rental booking, the Damage Refund Insurance will be cancelled automatically.

If you wish to amend or rearrange your booking, the Damage Refund Insurance will initially be cancelled. We will, however, automatically create a new policy for your new booking.

In both cases you will receive an email to confirm the cancellation at the email address you have provided during the online booking process.

Please be aware that if you cancel your insurance policy less than 24 hours before the start of your car rental agreement, no refund for insurance will be granted.

What is a no-show?

A 'no-show' occurs for the following reasons:

1 - You didn't inform us about your cancellation prior to your pick-up time.

2 - You failed to pick up the car at the arranged time and date.

3 - You failed to provide the documentation that's required to pick up the car.

4 - You failed to provide a credit card in the main driver's name with enough available funds on it.

In the event of any of the above, no refunds will be made to you.

The car rental company reserves the right to refuse a car if you fail to arrive on time with all necessary documentation and a credit card with enough available funds for the car's security deposit. In such a case, unless the car hire has been cancelled at least 48 hours in advance, you will not be entitled to a refund.
